It was a somewhat rainy day (off and on sprinkles), but the weather didn't deter us from walking and admiring the wonderful scenery around the pond and river area. Entry is free for the Poet's Walk. OR. 1 mile walk, though the land and through some little forest. Along the trail, there are lots of educational signs for the different flora and there are lots of mature trees. Much of the grounds feature open lawns with bucolic vistas. From the visitor center, where we parked our car, it's a 4 minute drive to the historic site. We didn't visit it, because it was closed.
