Mack's prowress as a writer and performer is equally matched in compositions and musicianship of the other band members, including Bruce Katz's "Hippology" and the playful, lilting jazz tune "Points of Friendship" by Reggie Pittman, which includes solos by nearly all of the band members, along with Pittman's own gorgeous Flugelhorn parts. You really get an understanding on how mus=ch he contributes to the AAB's unique sound.

Leaning on jazz ( not the heavy 5 instruments playing 5 different tunes at the same time jazz ! We cannot say enough about the superb songwriting and sohpisticated musicianship on this CD - contributions from Junior Mack, Bruce Katz, Dave Stoltz and Reggie Pittman all stand out. The band's mixture of blues, country, jazz, and rock, spearheaded by the dual lead guitars of Betts and Allman, and the double-drums of Trucks and Jaimoe, was unique at that time, and they rapidly became known as an act that "you had to see live".
